A place for caregivers to be seen, supported, and strengthened.
Lighthouse Association has been dedicated to supporting caregivers since 2023. A caregiver is responsible for providing or arranging care for someone with limited ability to care for themselves. We help caregivers prioritize their own wellbeing while ensuring they have the essential resources they need.
Our Vision
To ensure all caregivers are supported in their caregiving journey.
Our Mission
To provide caregivers with essential resources and support in maintaining their physical and mental health.
Our Beliefs
A — Advocacy
We raise awareness of caregiver experiences, stressors, and the physical and mental health difficulties caregivers and persons-in-care may experience.
B — Balanced
We support caregivers in maintaining balance between uplifting others and caring for themselves, enhancing resilience and encouraging a meaningful life as an individual.
C — Connection
We create meaningful connections between caregivers, volunteers, and helping professionals so people can share experiences, learn coping strategies, and feel less alone.
Our Current Focus
Our current focus is supporting elderly caregivers and caregivers of children with special educational needs (SEN).
Elderly Caregivers
Frailty, weakness, and the demands of day-to-day caregiving can intensify with age. We offer companionship and respite care to reduce loneliness, strengthen emotional resilience, and provide educational talks on chronic illnesses.
Caregivers of Children with SEN
Caring for children with SEN can bring concerns about upbringing, future opportunities, and social perception. We help families build knowledge and confidence through psychoeducational talks, care services, and practical support.
