Supporting caregivers to care for themselves too.
Caregivers deserve care, too.
Lighthouse Association has been dedicated to supporting caregivers since 2023. While caring for our loved ones can be deeply meaningful, we recognize the ongoing stress, risk of burnout, and mental and physical exhaustion from handling day-to-day responsibilities. Our mission is to ensure caregivers prioritize their own wellbeing throughout their caregiving journey and are equipped with essential resources.

What is a caregiver?
According to a 2021 publication by the Census Statistics Department of Hong Kong, over 204,200 persons with disabilities have at least one caregiver in their lives. For more than half of these caregivers, the role demands at least 40 hours every week, making it equivalent to a demanding unpaid full-time job.
Caregivers may be seemingly invisible, but they are all around us. Anyone can become a caregiver: a family member, partner, friend, or neighbour who provides or arranges care for someone with limited ability to care for themselves. That support may be emotional, practical, financial, personal, medical, or administrative.
